Velvet is a short film that tells the visual story of losing one’s identity in monotonous environments that fail to nurture creativity. Through an original song, choreography, and surreal world, the film follows a Plain Girl who gets transported into a strange magazine. As she journeys through a series of aberrant spreads each with a critique on society today, she reclaims parts of her identity once lost. Velvet is a completely student-run film, coming in Spring 2026.
Serving as both a prop in the film and a piece of memorabilia, the Velvet magazine represents creativity at its core.
