Velvet is a short film that tells the visual story of a Plain Girl who is transported into a surreal magazine after losing touch with her creative identity. Through an original song, choreography, and surreal world, the film sheds a light on on the challenges that artists endure within environments that necessitate creativity but fail to recognize and nurture the process itself. Velvet is a completely student-run film, co-directed by Frances Lee and Lola Ellis, coming in Spring 2026.
Serving as both a prop in the film and a piece of memorabilia, the Velvet magazine represents creativity at its core.
